With the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ireland and China, Ireland has introduced the issuing of five-year, multiple entry tourist visas to eligible Chinese tourists.
Since 1st of July, these can be obtained if Chinese nationals fulfill the following conditions:
– Complied with the terms of previous visa in the past
– Reliable travel history proven by previous visa issued by Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the US or a country of the Schengen Area
If the issuing of the newly introduced visa has been successful, it is important to keep in mind that any business activities are not allowed on a tourist visa. Under certain conditions, Chinese nationals could also be eligible for 5-year business visas.
The introduction of the 5-year tourist visa for Chinese travelers comes at a time when Ireland puts in broad efforts to attract Chinese tourists and business travelers.
