Those applying for a visa at a Chinese consulate in Canada will now have to appear in person for biometrics. The new change has already been enforced and requires visa applicants to arrange for an appointment in one of the offices in Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver or Ottawa.
To travel to one of the offices will lead to additional costs and the loss of time, especially for those who do not live near a visa application office. The previous task of visa agents can also no longer be taken into consideration as the applicant has to appear personally.
Therefore, it is essential to book an appointment as early as possible.
The introduction of this additional requirement will slow down a previously simple process and applicants should consider extensive delays.
